French 40s Art Deco Sculptural Wood Table Lamp | Hand-carved Twisted Spiral Base

A striking French 1940s art deco table lamp base in hand-carved wood, featuring a beautifully twisted spiral column and a sculptural shaped base. The underside carries a maker or workshop stamp reading “GERANDONE Meubles EBENISTE,” adding a lovely point of attribution to this expressive mid century piece. The warm brown finish and fluid carved form give it a strong decorative presence even without a shade.

This lamp has an elegant, architectural look that works especially well in rustic modern, French country, mid century, and organic interiors. The spiral silhouette creates movement from every angle, while the rich wood grain and softly aged patina bring warmth and depth. Paired with a simple linen or parchment shade, it would cast a soft, intimate light.

A beautiful choice for a bedside table, console, desk, or reading corner. The lamp appears to be in good vintage condition overall, with age-related wear to the wood, minor scuffs and small edge nicks to the base, light surface marks, and some wear around the top fitting and underside. The cord and inline switch are present, and the lamp is shown powered. Shade not included.

Height of base to top of socket: ca. 40 cm / 15.7 in

Base width: ca. 20 cm / 7.9 in

Estimated base depth: ca. 20 cm / 7.9 in
