A striking pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1970s, made with warm copper-coated metal bodies and large hand-blown clear glass globes filled with delicate bubbles. The sculptural crescent-like backplate and rounded base give them a strong Space Age feel, while the seeded glass softens the look with a beautiful artisanal texture.
When lit, these sconces cast a gentle, atmospheric glow through the bubble glass, creating a warm and slightly diffused light that works especially well in a bedroom, hallway, living room, or powder room. They have a confident architectural presence and sit beautifully within mid century, modernist, and organic 70s interiors.
A handsome pair for bedside placement or flanking a mirror. Visible age-related wear includes patina and oxidation to the copper finish, wear to the interior bulb sleeves, and minor surface marks consistent with age. The glass shows typical handmade irregularities and bubbles, and there appears to be some wear around the fitter edge as shown. Overall, the pair presents very well.
