French 70s XL Brutalist Ceramic Table Lamp | Sculptural Black Textured Lamp Base

A large and striking French 1970s brutalist table lamp base in textured ceramic with a dark charcoal to black finish, sculptural raised bands, and a warm wooden top. The hand-worked surface has a highly tactile, almost lava-like character, with expressive carved movement across the body and subtle bronze-toned highlights catching the texture. The brass bulb holder and original inline switch complete the piece with a beautifully authentic vintage presence.

Unlit, it reads as a sculptural object in its own right; lit, it would bring a warm, atmospheric glow and a strong artisanal character to a console, bedside table, or reading corner. Its silhouette feels both organic and architectural, making it an easy fit for brutalist, wabi-sabi, rustic modern, or 70s eclectic interiors.

A wonderful statement lamp for a sideboard, shelf, or nightstand. Condition is good vintage overall, with age-related wear to the ceramic surface, minor scuffs and small chips around the underside/base edge, patina to the brass fitting, and general wear consistent with age. The plug appears to be a European two-pin plug, and the lamp retains its period cord and switch.
